The short version
This is a static events directory. There are no accounts, no logins and no tracking cookies set by us. We collect the minimum needed to serve the pages and to answer you if you get in touch.
Your area
This site tries to show you what is on near you rather than across a whole state. There are three ways it can learn roughly where that is, and they are not the same as each other:
- You type a town or ZIP code. Nothing leaves your browser — the list of towns is part of the site, and the matching happens on your device.
- You use “Use my location”. Your browser asks your permission first, and the coordinates it gives us stay on your device. We keep only the approximate position and the nearest town name, and we do not keep a history of where you have been.
- We estimate it from your connection. On your first visit, before you have chosen anything, the page asks our server roughly what region your request came from. Our content delivery network works this out from your IP address and tells the page a town-level location — it is often several counties out, which is why it is only ever a starting suggestion and is always shown to you with a way to change it.
What that estimate does and does not do. Your IP address is not stored by that lookup, not written into any record of your visit beyond the ordinary server logs described below, and not shared with anyone. The answer is sent to your browser and nowhere else.
Whichever way it is set, your area is then stored in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, and it is not sent back to us on later visits — the sorting happens on your device. You can change it with “change” next to your town in the header, remove it with “Show the whole state”, or clear it by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Declining the browser location prompt costs you nothing: the site works exactly the same, and you can always type a town instead or browse the whole territory.
What we collect
- Server and CDN logs. Our host and content delivery network record the usual request data — IP address, timestamp, page requested, referring page, browser user agent — to serve traffic, block abuse and produce aggregate visitor counts. These are retained for a short period and are not used to build a profile of you.
- What you send us. If you email us or submit an event, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply and manage the listing.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not run advertising trackers or data brokers on this site.
Event information we publish
Listings are gathered from public sources: municipal, county, library, school and college calendars, local news and broadcast outlets, race and ticketing platforms, and organiser submissions. They may include an organiser or venue name, address and public contact details as published by that source. Some listings are supplied under licence by third-party platforms including the Ticketmaster Discovery API; that content is stored only for as long as we need it to run this directory — while the event is upcoming and briefly afterwards — and is refreshed against the source.
If you are an organiser and want your event or your details removed, email us and we will remove them. Requests relating to licensed third-party content are actioned within 24 hours.
Third parties
Pages link out to organiser, venue and ticketing sites, and some outbound ticket links may be affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). Once you follow a link, that site's privacy policy applies, not ours. Images may be served from the originating platform's own servers, which means that platform can see the request.
Your choices
You can browse this site without giving us anything. Wherever the law gives you rights over personal data we hold about you — access, correction, deletion — email us and we will comply.
Children
This site is aimed at a general audience and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
